The Public Works Department provides high quality, professional, and excellent services in engineering, infrastructure maintenance, and recycling & solid waste management that enhances the safety and quality of life for all Vallejo residents and customers.

The City of Vallejo Public Works Department will be known as a department that functions with a high level of professionalism, efficiency, and delivery of exceptional customer service.

About the Public Works Department

The Public Works Department consists of the Engineering and Maintenance Divisions that work together and independently to provide a variety of maintenance, operations, and engineering services to our residents. The Department is overseen by the Public Works Director, who provides budgetary and management direction.

Engineering Division

The Engineering Division is responsible for contracting and overseeing capital projects, the implementation of traffic control systems, Landscape Maintenance Districts (LMDs), storm drains, reviewing current development, providing education and outreach on recycling, and managing the city's garbage waste and recycling contract.

Maintenance Division

The largest and most diverse Division, the Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of City-owned infrastructure including traffic signals, water distribution lines, the Municipal Marina, streets and alleys, city buildings and vehicles, as well as the upkeep of city-owned grounds.

To report a non-emergency maintenance problem, please use SeeClickFix. Be prepared to share the exact location and nature of the problem so we may better assist you.

To report an emergency situation such as a main break or downed tree/light signal/pole in right-of way, please call (707) 648-5235 during regular operating hours.

In case of an after-hours maintenance emergency such as a main break, a blacked-out signalized intersection, or a downed tree in the right-of-way, please call 9-1-1.
